Hello everyone! I’m John Chávez, your local foodie and passionate guide born and raised in Mexico City. For me, Hungry Nomads is more than just a job—it’s a chance to share my deep love for this city, its vibrant traditions, and of course, its mouthwatering food! Over the years, this project has let me show fellow food lovers my favorite hidden gems and local spots, and offer a taste of everyday life around Mexico City’s culinary scene. My goal is to introduce you to the true stars of our food culture—those who, through their craft, keep the spirit of our city’s cuisine alive.

Since 2019, this project has been dedicated with great care to offering genuine culinary experiences that capture the real traditions, folklore, and daily life surrounding the incredible local food of Mexico City.
I have a degree in Tourism and worked for over 8 years in tourism companies such as airlines and travel
agencies. However, I decided to pivot my career and focus on what I love most: the food and culture of my city. That's how Hungry Nomads was born, a project where I merge my knowledge and expertise, with my love for the history of my city to provide travelers with a truly authentic experience, showing them a different side of my city.
In my experiences, I will take you to discover not only the culinary diversity of the city, but also its amazing history and culture. From traditional markets, street food stalls, to the most emblematic taquerías, each stop has been carefully selected to offer you a unique and flavorful experience.
I greatly appreciate you visiting my page and hope to meet you soon to personally show you my love for Mexico City!
